How The Routine Fits Into Your F1 Weekend
We built The Routine specifically for this region:
-
Engineered for endurance - made for heat, sweat and long days out
-
SPF 40 - high daily protection suitable for reality in the UAE
-
Gel texture - disappears quickly, no heavy or sticky feel
-
Zero white cast - works on every skin tone, looks clean in photos
-
Matte finish - so you don’t feel like you’re wearing sunscreen, even in humidity
Use it:
-
Before leaving your hotel each day
-
Before each major track session if you’re outdoors for more than a couple of hours
-
After sweating a lot, towel-drying your face, or before sunset when you’re still outside
THE ROUTINE at The Formula 1 Abu Dhabi GP!
The Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2025 is the season finale - and this year it’s huge. The title fight is going right down to the wire at Yas Marina Circuit, with Lando Norris leading the championship on 408 points, just ahead of Max Verstappen on 396 and Oscar Piastri on 392.
It’s a weekend built on endurance: cars, drivers, teams, and yes - your skin.
That’s why The Routine exists. Our SPF is engineered for endurance in the same kind of conditions you’ll face: long days trackside, intense desert sun, and heat that doesn’t care that it’s “winter”.
Why SPF Matters at Yas Marina (Even at Night)
Abu Dhabi “winter” is still strong-sun weather. Across race week, you’ll likely spend hours:
-
Walking around Yas Marina Circuit
-
Exploring Yas Bay, fan zones and activations
-
Queuing for shuttles, taxis and ride-hailing
-
Sitting in grandstands with direct or reflected sun
Even on race day, when the race starts later and runs into the evening, you’re still exposed to hours of UV while gates are open and the sun is high. The desert light reflects off concrete, glass, and water, so you’re getting hit from angles you don’t expect.
A lightweight, high-performance SPF means you can reapply between sessions without feeling greasy, sticky, or covered in white cast - crucial when you’re already warm, possibly sweating, and carrying as little as possible.
The Routine is:
-
Engineered for endurance - designed for long, hot days
-
Lightweight gel texture - so you’ll actually want to reapply
-
Zero white cast - no grey film in your photos
-
Water-resistant - built to handle sweat and humidity
Perfect for a full F1 race weekend.
Your Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Weekend Itinerary (With Sun-Safe Tips)
The official F1 track schedule runs across Friday practice, Saturday qualifying, and Sunday’s title-deciding race, with support series and concerts filling the rest of the programme.
Day 1 – Friday: Practice, Paddock Energy & Sunset Views
Morning - Ease into race weekend
-
Late breakfast on Yas Bay or at your hotel
-
Light walk around the marina before it gets too hot
-
SPF moment: First application of The Routine before you leave the room
-
You’ll be outdoors, in and out of shade, and reflected light off the water is no joke
-
Midday - Head to the circuit
-
Arrive before Practice 1 so you have time for security and to find your seat
-
Explore the fan zones, merch stands and brand activations
-
Grab a drink, stay hydrated – especially if you’re already in direct sun
-
Top-up SPF: Quick reapply before Practice 2; if you’re in general admission or open grandstands, your face, neck and arms will thank you later
Evening - Sunset and lights on track
-
Watch cars under changing light as the sun drops - one of the best visuals at Yas Marina
-
Stay for any concerts or evening entertainment after track sessions
-
Take plenty of photos… without worrying about a chalky sunscreen finish
Day 2 - Saturday: Qualifying & Night-Time Atmosphere
Late Morning - Slow start, then Yas
-
Enjoy brunch in Abu Dhabi or on Yas - pace yourself, it’s a long day
-
SPF moment: Apply The Routine 15–20 minutes before heading out; think face, ears, neck, back of neck and tops of hands
Afternoon - Final Practice & Build-Up
-
Get to the circuit in time for Final Practice and support races
-
Walk the concourse, find good viewpoints, check big screens and timing towers
-
Reapply SPF before qualifying - especially if you’ve been sweating, wiping your face, or sitting in sun pockets between shade
Evening - Qualifying under the lights
-
Watch the championship contenders fight for pole under the floodlights
-
Expect a charged atmosphere, especially with Norris, Verstappen and Piastri all in contention for the title
-
Stay for the post-qualifying concerts or entertainment if you’re on one of the big ticket packages
This is usually the latest finish of the weekend for a lot of fans - engineered for endurance applies to your skin as much as to the teams.
Day 3 - Sunday: Race Day & Title Decider
Late Morning - Calm before the chaos
-
Stay light on plans so you’re not rushed; race day traffic builds early
-
SPF moment: Apply The Routine as part of your morning routine, before heading out
-
Pack small: phone, wallet, mini fan if you want, and your SPF if you’re the organised friend
Early Afternoon - Build-up at the circuit
-
Get in early to soak in pre-race shows, grid build-up on the big screens and support races
-
Walk the venue once more - food stands, fan entertainment, views from different angles
-
Reapply SPF about 30–45 minutes before the race start, especially if you’re in open seating or general admission
Race Start - The Championship on the Line
-
Watch the formation lap knowing the title comes down to this one race:
-
Expect tension, noise, and a lot of people standing in the sun pre-start for photos and videos
Evening - Podium & After-Party
-
Stay for the podium ceremony and championship celebrations
-
Then head to the post-race concert or Yas Bay for food and drinks to close out your weekend
By this point you and your skin have done a full endurance weekend: gates, queues, heat, lights, and long days. Your SPF needs to keep up - not melt off.
